This summer, ten students from the Department of English Language, Culture and Communication, and one student from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature attended a one-week intensive English immersion course in Daegu, South Korea.
Classes, designed to build students’ all-round English skills and cultural awareness, were held daily from 9 a.m. through to 7:30 p.m. Classes on tourism English, telephone English, international manners, cooking, etc., were taught by instructors from a variety countries including; the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. The final afternoon was spent taking a downtown tour, where everyone was able to buy many authentic Korean souvenirs and had a meal at a 150-year-old traditional Korean restaurant.
All the students received a certificate of participation, a gift, and made some happy summer memories
