Second year students taking Janice Nakamura’s Practical English class had a debate in class this week. There were four teams and two topics. Laura Talley, a visiting student from California State University at Chico, helped facilitate the debate.
The topics were:
- Studying abroad is better than studying locally
- Students should attend cram schools.
Each team had to agree or disagree with the topics and give reasons for their view.
It was a great opportunity for the students to express their opinions in English.
I’m proud all of you took up the challenge, girls!
