Japanese Art & Culture授業

On Saturday 7th July, students from the Japanese Art & Culture course took a Tanabatatour of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno.
Twenty-seven students met at the main entrance of the museum at midday. After entering the refreshing cool ‘Honkan’, or main building, the students freely walked about the 24 exhibition rooms that introducethe development of Japanese art from early Jomon through to the Edo period. The museum houses some of the finest examples of lacquerware, scrolls, sculpture, swords, ceramics, screens, armour and paintings.
